Temporary residence permit

THE FOREIGNER PLANNINGING A PAYMENT IN POLAND FOR LONGER THAN 3 MONTHS CAN APPLY FOR A PERMIT FOR A TIME STAY IN POLAND.

A temporary residence permit is issued for a maximum of 3 years. The period of validity of the permit may, however, be shorter if the basis for applying for this permit indicates the legitimacy of a shorter stay. The procedure of legalization of temporary stay is pending at the voivodship office in which the foreigner lives.


To obtain a temporary residence permit, a foreigner must present documented reasons for wanting to stay in Poland.

WHEN YOU MAY HAVE A CARD OF TIMELY STAY IN POLAND

1. Starting work in the territory of Poland;

2. Performing work in a highly qualified job;

3. Running a business in Poland;

4. Taking up studies in Poland;

5. Taking a preparatory course to study at bachelor's, master's or doctoral studies in Polish;

6. Conducting scientific research in Poland;

7. Arrival to family members of a Polish citizen or a family member of a foreigner;

8. Intention to attach a family member to a citizen of an EU Member State, a Member State of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) or a Swiss Confederation residing in Poland;

9. Being an underage child of a foreigner who stays in Poland on the basis of a national visa or a temporary residence permit if the child was born within the period of validity of this national visa or temporary residence permit;

10. Being a minor child of a foreigner who is a spouse of a Polish citizen and who has a temporary residence permit issued for a family member of a Polish citizen;

11. Other important circumstances whose existence will be proven.

From a foreigner applying for a temporary residence permit fingerprints are taken in order to place them on the residence card.
